1. 2 lb. grass-fed beef or bison
2. 1 white organic onion
3. 2 organic carrots peeled and chopped
4. 1 can of adzuki beans (can be found at Whole Foods, Eden Organics)
5. 1 tablespoon coconut oil (refined)
6. 1 jar of organic passata, if you can’t find passata use plane organic crushed tomatoes and run them through a strainer.
7. 1 cup of organic beef broth
8. Juice of 1 organic lime
9. 2 tsp coriander seeds
10. 2 tsp cumin seeds
11. 2 tsp cumin powder
12. 1/2 tsp hot chili powder, this is optional depending on how hot you want the chili
13. 1 tsp cinnamon powder
14. 2 tsp dried oregano
15. 1 tsp dried thyme
16. Sea salt to taste
Place meat and herbs together and let marinate for about an hour.  Heat a frying pan with coconut oil, add the cumin and coriander seeds and fry until they pop. Add the onion and sauté on low heat until translucent and golden.  Stir the beef or bison into your onion and spices and cook until browned.  Pour the broth, passata, lime juice, marinated beef, carrots, legumes, onions and spices into your slow cooker.  Set the heat to high and let cook for 4 to 6 hours or until beef melts in the mouth.
