*Please note: Introduction Course (PASSED)
October 6-8, 2017: Analytical and Segmental Muscular Strengthening of the Knee

Level 1 – Certificate of Applied Trainer

Soma Training Program:

• Course 1 – December 8-10, 2017: Analytical and Segmental Muscular Strengthening of the Abdominal Muscles and the Thoracic Diaphragm

The abdominals (obliques, transverse, pyramidalis and rectus abdominus) and the thoracic diaphragm need to be properly trained. These muscles are not only functional but aesthetic. That is why students will learn hundreds of exercises.  Also how to stimulate the digestive system? How to treat all the abdominal herniations with abdominal exercises?

** ADDITIONAL COURSE ADDED ON: Monday December 11, 2017 – Transverse Abdominis (TVA)

The TVA is a wildly controversial muscle. CHEK says to “draw your belly in” McGill and DNS say “push your belly out.” Who is right? This one day course will discuss this controversy and give the students many different ways to train one of the most important stabilizers of the spine. This course is rarely offered, so, do not miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Email H3 for more details and don’t forget to check Eventbrite for tickets for this class!

• Course 2 – January 26-28, 2018: Analytical and Segmental Muscular Strengthening of the Lower Limbs

There are hundreds of specific exercises which can solicit the proximal, distal, medial, lateral, middle, superficial or deep portions of each muscle (i.e. proximal psoas or distal tibialis anterior) in the lower extremities. We discovered a new tensegritive anatomy (Ex the 5 psoas on each side). The thorough details that are covered in this class will allow for an understanding of the numerous exercises that target specific areas of the lower limb.

• Course 3 – February 16-18, 2018: Analytical and Segmental Muscular Strengthening of the Upper Limbs and the Trunk

The large muscles (latissimus dorsi, trapezius, rhomboids, quadratus lumborum, etc) need to be trained with a lot of specific movements. The spinal muscles need to be trained to improve their ability to provide postural support. There are also numerous, yet specific exercises which can solicit the proximal, distal, medial, lateral, middle, superficial or deep portions of each muscle (i.e. deltoids or thumb flexor) in the upper extremities. Students will learn hundreds of exercises.

• Course  4 – March 23-25, 2018: How to Organize a Global Movement: Squat. Posturology Testing and Training

A complete analysis of the squat with respect to the entire body. There are over a hundred progressions that have to be learned before a squat is completed properly.

The squat could be an amazing exercise to correct knee problems, back pain and many other things including visceral.

All the exercises make sense only if your body is in total balance.  How to test and correct the imbalance will be taught in posturology?

• Course 5 – November 30-December 2, 2018: Periodization, Cinesiology, and Clinical Application

The focus of this class is to understand quality (volume, strength, power, speed, resistance, endurance, maintenance, muscular re-education and fitness) and quantity (number of series, repetitions and rest time).

We need to know all the biomechanic laws of the body: Cinesiology.

There will be a lot of examples of clinical application.
